• Unrestricted Gifts

  An unrestricted gift allows the LEF to award yearly grants and provide for expanded educational opportunities in Lewiston schools in accordance with the fund's mission.

• Restricted Gifts

  A restricted gift honors the specific request of a donor to support a particular educational opportunity such as the arts, technology, or literacy.

• Endowment

  Our goal is to raise one million dollars as an endowment to support LEF activities. The endowment will be invested with the Maine Community Foundation and only a portion (usually 5%) will be used yearly to support grant awards. The endowment will provide a perpetual source of income for programs and activities that promote excellence in Lewiston's schools.
